How mothers can be our daily surveillance

How mothers can be our daily surveillance

As per research, a person’s behaviour changes when they are being watched because that is when our brain keep on giving us notifications that ‘you are being watched’. Even if you are not doing anything wrong, you think and you feel like you are being watched so you instantly start acting different, each move of yours will be a planned one. Just like that, our mothers is watching us daily, watching our every move. They are keeping surveillance like a CCTV camera. Teenagers face this a lot more than adults but given that we are Bengali, our mothers keep eyes on us all the time, teenager or adult. Ever wondered how we kept a certain thing in a particular place and the next day we cannot seem to find it out but our mothers knew exactly where we kept that thing, but we know that they was not watching us when we kept it then how they found it out? Well, this can be explained by two things, one is they know us, they know where we usually keep our stuff, second is they were watching us even when we thought that our mothers cannot see or keep an eye on us all the time but mothers got hawk’s eyes they can see and watch us doing everything.

The Panopticon theory applies to us in our daily life wherever we go, we are being watched but we do not know who exactly is watching us. It might be the CCTV cameras that are installed on the roads or on our apartment buildings. We do not do the stuff that are wrong, we do not behave irrationally because we are aware of the cameras around us, it is recording, the prove if some incident. Our mothers exactly like that recording us, watching us and later presenting those recordings on an argument as prove.

So yes, a person’s behaviour does change when he or she is being watched, whether it is done by a security officer in a prison or by our mothers and that is how this society is working and will keep on working because us human being cannot stay within limit if freedom is given to us, it is just not in our nature.
This picture is taken from Owlcation. We are being watched all the time but we do not know who is watching us or why are we even under surveillance.

This picture is taken from the Daily Star. Mothers our daily watcher, watching us even when we have no clue about, they know exactly what is going on in our mind and where to find our stuff.

How lifestyle and fashion blogging took over instagram in Bangladesh

This screenshot was taken from Villa Zolitude Phuket. It is a hotel resort in Phuket, Bangkok, naziba.naushin is also featured in this paid advertisement where the resort is giving cash voucher offer worth of 1000 baht. The picture was also publicly posted on both the resort’s and her instagram accounts. This just shows how this particular  influencer of our country is being part of an international resort marketing all via instagram posts.

This screenshot was taken from naziba.naushin’s instagram account, which was publicly posted. She is a well-known influencer/blogger and her feed is based on lifestyle and fashion. She posted this paid advertisement of Daraz Bangladesh on the on-going sale that is happening on their app.

How lifestyle and fashion blogging took over instagram in Bangladesh

Instagram is a social platform where billions of users are posting, creating and communicating everyday just like facebook. As days are going by so are the changes in the culture of many different countries. Just like that, in our country too this new culture came from the nest of instagram which is the lifestyle and fashion blogging, that people are doing it through this platform. We all know, how technology and internet made everything easy from communicating overseas to getting the latest news, trends of fashion and lifestyle from all over the world. So, blogging about lifestyle and fashion on instagram can be done instantly and very easily, surely it needs loads of dedication and hard work to keep on maintaining the feed with the latest trends and obviously to reach a level with thousands of followers. But once you get recognised, you will get sponsorships from different brands and social media houses. Bloggers from our country are now competing with the influencers/bloggers from around the globe. Sometimes it is truly a great topic to think about how technology and internet is correlated also helping us convergence in culture and communication. It is delightful to see how a simple photo sharing app is a great marketing place and bloggers/influencers are all up to making money and leading their accounts with their dedication is a good thing to see, a good change in our culture and interests platform. Living up with all the other great bloggers around the world, granted that not all bloggers are good or making money but some are. People are excited and supporting them, building a good community in a huge platform like this. Among all the creatively good influencers/bloggers I chose few of them to feature in this blog, naziba.naushin, t.sunehra and binstagram. This platform will keep on evolving through time and will keep on merging these two revolutionary segments communication and culture, also will continue to create contents that we never could have imagined. Cheers to the people who are making this community a innovative place, helping each other to compete globally and bringing great new changes in culture and communication through entertainment.

My first not so interesting day in ULAB

The peaceful view from my campus

Being only 17 and getting into university was a big thing for me but I made it and also through my first day in the campus of ULAB. The first day was not so special and I only made 2 friends and I had two classes on the same day. It was exciting and kind of unbelievable too that I’m studying in university now. The classes went in a blink, was very happy to meet the faculties, they were nice. The lessons were pretty easy too. My class was at 10 in the morning then after that I had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes for my next class. I met my only friend which was Shuvo at that time in my next class which was a class of my major subject. My first class was English though. I didn’t do much on my first day, I roamed around and explored the campus. My first semester was in Dhanmondi Campus-B but one day I visited the Permanent campus and took explored the place, indulging in the green scenery and also embracing what that green campus offers. It was peacful walking below the curved path trees shading the walkaway, feeling oddly relaxing in that summer heat. The whole first day and first semester was really nerve wrecking with starting a new life and learning also meeting new people. Though the first day was not so interesting yet the first semester was great to experience.

Just tried to pose a bit before the class

Bought my first meal from the canteen
